![]() I believe the head and cylinder are from the quad which KTM made the motors for them it's an 08' Polaris outlaw 450 mxr. The bore and stroke is different on a few but that also seems to be interchangeable the motor was rebuilt and he gave me the paper work on it showing the short stroke crank and bigger piston was swapped out for the long stroke 72mm and smaller piston and the cylinder was re-plated. I have a KTM manual that covers the SX.MX,EXC, MXC-G 250cc through 525cc and the 525 MXC desert models from 2000' to 2007' and from what I can tell what you said about the parts being interchangeable is true, the cylinder head seems to be the same on all of them, the valves are the same size on all of them, and the cam is the same on all of them except for two. I was told by KTM that it was an 05' SX but I didn't ask about the history of it. I dont have the original carb the part number is the one for the quad which is a FCR-MX 39mm. Thanks for responding I was wondering if maybe it was converted to six speed.
